What is the only way to wear a blazer in Spring/Summer 2020? With a bralette! Such styling was spotted at the catwalks of Michael Kors, Jason Wu, Staud and others. Seriously, this is such a chic look. Pair a bralette top with high-waisted bottoms and a tailored blazer. Or, wear a bralette top with an oversized blazer and paper-bag pants for an ultimate summer vibe.
2. Polka dots
Another major trend for Spring/Summer 2020 are polka dots. To be honest, polka dots are such a print that remains constant in our wardrobes, regardless of a fact whether it’s a trend or not. Polka dot print is so timeless, but at the same time also very summertime and cute! This season, polka dots are getting a modern makeover! Balenciaga, for instance, incorporated the print in a selection of shoes and mini totes. Other brands have played with color and dot size. So, this season you have a variety of polka dot clothing options to choose from! Black & white or colorful, dainty or big polka dots, the choice is endless!
3. Puffy sleeves
In Spring/Summer 2020 the puffy sleeves are officially back! We’ve seen a subtle revival of the puffy sleeve trend last year. However, in 2020 this trend is still expected to go strong! Seen at catwalks of Zimmermann, Richard Quinn and Huishan Zhang, puffy sleeves in 2020 are present in mostly dresses and blouses. Puffy sleeve trend is glam, but playful. Some find this trend too romantic, but don’t be fooled! Puffy sleeves add a statement to any outfit, even to the simplest one!
4. 90’s inspired shoes
So, what is a general shoe trend for Spring/Summer 2020? The answer is: it’s 90’s inspired shoes! In particular, strappy and thong sandals with square toe. This season, you’ll be able to find these types of sandals everywhere. Not only several luxury brands have added these shoes to their collections, but similar designs can also be found at fast fashion retailers, like Topshop and Zara. However, the brand that is most talked about in regards to square-toe shoes is undoubtedly, Bottega Veneta. We’ve fallen in love with Bottega Veneta’s square-toe mules ever since they first appeared in Summer 2019. This season, the brand has released a whole range of square-toe sandals for us to wear and love.
5. Raffia bags
Organic and natural is in style right now and we love it when designers choose “sustainable”! This season, Prada, Loewe, Valentino, Celine and many other brands have added raffia bags to their collections. Loewe’s latest hit bag, “the Balloon”, this season, comes in leather-encased raffia and not only is it perfect for wear in summer months, but will also look incredible with your favorite trench coat! According to Moda Operandi and Net-a-Porter, Raffia bags are currently among their top sellers. From bucket bags to totes, crossbodies and shoulder bags, there are numerous options of raffia bags available for any taste!
