Chanel’s Métiers D’Art 2021 Collection has finally landed in boutiques. Since 2002, with the Métiers D’Art Collection Chanel has been paying homage to the artisans behind the house, celebrating their expert knowledge and craftsmanship. This year was no different. The showing for the Métiers D’Art 2021 Collection took place last December at the Château de Chenonceau. Located in France’s Loire Valley, it’s also known as Le Château des Dames, or Ladies’ Castle. The estate’s gardens, architecture and interiors served as inspiration for this season’s Métiers D’Art looks.
Chanel’s Métiers D’Art 2021 bags are like wearable pieces of art. This season, among the silhouettes presented are mini bags, flap bags and even shopping bags. Let’s take a closer look at some of the most talked about bags from Chanel Métiers D’Art 2021 collection.
Chanel Flap Bag (Price Upon Request)
It’s Chanel, so, of course, there are multiple flap bag options in the Métiers D’Art 2021. How about a silk classic flap bag with gold-tone hardware, decorated with glass pearls and sequins? By the way, the geometic motif on the exterior is inspired by the floors in the Château’s Gallery.
Chanel Mini 2.55 Bag ($10,000)
If you thought that $3,000 was already too much for a mini flap, get ready for this one. For Métiers D’Art 2021, Chanel presents their iconic Mini 2.55 Reissue bag in velvet. This bag is absolutely beautiful, featuring glass pearls, crystal pearls and gold-tone hardware. Oh, did I forget to tell you the price? This beauty will cost you $10,000!!!
Chanel Flap Coin Purse with Chain ($1,825)
Technically, this is a small leather good, but you already know everyone is gonna use it as a bag. With the mini bag trend still going strong, Chanel’s Flap Coin Purse with Chain is set to become the top seller from Métiers D’Art 2021. Measuring 9.5 cm in height and 12.5 cm in length, it’s a perfect size to hold some cards, cash and a few other small essentials.
Chanel Small Bucket with Chain (Price Upon Request)
The Métiers D’Art 2021 Small Bucket Bag with Chain is the Château de Chenonceau in miniature. Coming in either embroidered velvet, or metallic embroidered lambskin, this stunning evening bag is literally, a piece of art. You know it’s a collector’s item when they say, price upon request.
Chanel Shopping Bag ($7,900)
Out of all Métiers D’Art bags presented this season, the shopping bag might be the most controversial. Made from braided velvet and metallic lambskin, it features a slouchy silhouette adorned with a pouch, shaped like a classic flap. In my opinion, this is a very special design for a certain type of a person. Available in two colors: black and burgundy, the Chanel Métiers D’Art 2021 Shopping Bag retails for $7,900.
