5 Louis Vuitton x Fornasetti Bags that I’m Eyeing this Season

It isn’t very often that Louis Vuitton collaborates with other brands, but when they do, it typically turns out iconic. Earlier this year, along with their Fall/Winter 2021 collection, Louis Vuitton presented an exclusive capsule collection in collaboration with Fornasetti, a renowned Italian homeware atelier.

If you are into designer homeware, you are likely already familiar with Fornasetti. Founded in 1940 by Pietro Fornasetti, the atelier is known for their distinct designs inspired by architecture, as well as, Ancient Greek and Roman periods.

Louis Vuitton’s Nicolas Ghesquière, who has held the title of brand’s creative director of womenswear since 2013, is no stranger to turning to the past for inspiration. In a press release announcing the Fornasetti collaboration he himself has stated: “as a designer who has always loved fashion’s ability to evoke the past, present and future simultaneously, I wanted to add new layers to this creative palimpsest”. According to Ghesquière, he was excited to search the Fornasetti achieves and find drawings from the past to give them a new life.

The Louis Vuitton x Fornasetti capsule includes everything from ready-to-wear to accessories, but it’s really the bags that make the heads turn. Imagine a Neverfull adorned with Greco-Roman coin motifs, or the Capucines featuring portraits of ancient statues. Sounds mesmerizing, doesn’t it? If you want to get your hands on something unique and truly out of the ordinary, here are the 5 best Louis Vuitton x Fornasetti bags to add to your collection!
