It’s been around six months since the Chanel Métiers D’Art 2022 Collection was presented at le19M Atelier in Paris. An annual celebration of Maison’s artisanal history, the Métiers D’Art showcases Chanel artisan’s exceptional skill and craftsmanship. Underlining a very metropolitan yet sophisticated elegance, this year’s Métiers D’Art Collection celebrates the exceptional savoir-faire of the embroiderers Lesage and Atelier Montex, the goldsmith Goossens, the hatter Maison Michel, the feather worker Lemarié, the pleater Lognon, and the shoemaker Massaro, showcasing each of their arts at their very finest. Think pleated skirts with feather details, tweed jackets reimagined with sweatshirt sleeves, knitwear with intricate embellishments, and of course, plenty of show-stopping fashion jewelry and accessories.
Talking about the accessories. Chanel’s Métiers D’Art bags are always highly anticipated. To be honest, it couldn’t be otherwise, because these bags are literally like wearable pieces of art. Yes, the keyword here is “wearable”! Even with all the bling and embellishments, the Métiers D’Art bags somehow manage to remain wearable, which isn’t necessarily always the case with limited edition handbags. Furthermore, it seems like this year there’s something out there for everyone – from trendy mini bags to oversized totes.
