1. Louis Vuitton Speedy

In the words of Audrey Hepburn “Paris is always a good idea”, and for this always-in-demand famous British actress, The Speedy was a true favorite. One of the first bags from Louis Vuitton, and designed with the popular Keepall in mind, The Speedy gave Hepburn what she needed for her on-the-go lifestyle – something stylish yet practical to fit everything she needed. She eventually requested that a slightly smaller size be made for her (the original was a size 30), after which Louis Vuitton released the Speedy 25.

The Speedy has since been reimagined in an array of different sizes, including the adorable Speedy Nano, the Speedy BB, Speedy 35 and the largest, the Speedy 40. The popular Louis Vuitton handbag comes in the classic Monogram canvas, Damier Azur canvas, and Damier Ebene canvas. Some styles also come in all-leather options with an embossed classic monogram print. The classic styles have two handles for carrying by hand or elbow, but in 2011, a new version was introduced with a detachable strap – the Speedy Bandouliere.

2. Louis Vuitton Alma

Next up on the list of the most popular Louis Vuitton bags we have a truly iconic bag, the Louis Vuitton Alma, rumoured to have been designed at the request of Coco Chanel in 1925. This is the second bag ever designed by Louis Vuitton and with Coco Chanel’s permission, it was eventually released to the public in 1934.

The bag has a curved yet structured shape and comes in a range of sizes and almost every material available from Louis Vuitton. The Alma features designs to suit any style, including the LV x YK Alma BB which was inspired by the revered Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama with white ‘Infinity Dots’ printed on vibrant red Epi cowhide. It also comes in elegant crocodilian leather in Noisette Brown, and the sporty Alma BB in Sunflower Yellow with a new Jacquard strap.

3. Louis Vuitton Noé

Third on the list of the most popular Louis Vuitton bags is the Noé, which was named after the biblical figure of Noah. As the story goes, after the great flood Noah went on to the become the World’s first ever winemaker, planting grapevines on mount Ararat. What on earth has this got to do with Louis Vuitton bags, you may ask? Well, if you want a super stylish way to carry bottles of bubbly to your next party, the Noé was originally designed back in 1932 to safely carry five bottles of Champagne!

Today, the Louis Vuitton Noé is a stylish, every-day bucket-bag with room to fit all your essentials (wine included) and more. In 2017, the original was re-imagined into the ‘NéoNoé’, a more structurally sound version of the original.

As well as the roomy standard size, the Luis Vuitton Noé is also available in Micro, Petit, Nano and BB. Styles arrive in the classic Louis Vuitton monogram coated canvas, as well as a Nano Noé in Purple Astro High Shiny Alligator Leather with silver detail, giving it a truly attention-grabbing modern look. There is also a super cute petit Noé in white calfskin leather with the iconic monogram pattern redesigned in cut-outs, making this the perfect addition to your summer wardrobe.

True to its name, this popular Louis Vuitton bag, the Neverfull, holds everything you could possibly need, except the kitchen sink, in which case I think it would be definitely full. The popularity of the iconic Louis Vuitton Neverfull is so widespread that I barely remember a time it didn’t exist, but it has actually only been around since 2007. First introduced as a beach bag, and often considered the sister of the Speedy, it soon became popular for everyday use.

The Louis Vuitton Neverfull arrives in three different sizes which are PM (petite or small), MM (medium) and GM (large). Designs also range from the classic monogram print, and come with detachable zippered pouches which can be carried separately as chic clutches, or be used inside the handbag to store essentials that require more security.

5. Louis Vuitton Keepall

As you may know, Louis Vuitton started out his brand as a luggage maker. So, the brand’s first handbags were actually intended for travel. For example, the Keepall. Introduced back in 1930, the Louis Vuitton Keepall was designed as a weekend bag to suit the changing travel landscape at the time, where longer travel distances and different modes of transport called for luggage that was less bulky, hard and boxy.

Identifiable for its side bands, leather handles and an optional detachable strap for cross-body wear, this luxury travel bag is available in a range of sizes and a huge range of styles, including the delightfully unique Keepall Bandouliere 50 Crochet Bag, made from leather completely covered in crochet.

The 2022 fall/winter line also brought the classic monogram canvas style adorned with handmade leather and canvas Monogram-embossed leaves and blossoms, but, unless you have a whopping $42,500 to spare, you might have to stick with something a little more understated.

6. Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis

Chances are if you’re a regular Instagram scroller you’ve come across one bag that fashionistas and celebrities always seem to be carrying: the Pochette Metis. Interestingly, it wasn’t until a couple of years after its release in 2012 that the popularity of The Pochette Metis took off. First released in the iconic monogram canvas, once it became more sought-after, designs were also realized in Reverse and Infrarogue canvas, Epi and Empreinte leathers.

The Pochette Metis is similar to the briefcase-like Louis Vuitton Monceau, released in 1986, but has a more modern and feminine touch. It’s a compact, satchel-style handbag with a structured, sleek design and is super versatile, making it the perfect everyday bag.

Styles and colours range from the Pochette Metis handbag in ‘Jacquard Since 1854’ black and white vintage-style woven textile, to the Monogram Reverse coated canvas. The range also includes the recently released Pochette Metis East West Bag, which is slightly smaller than other styles but with enough room to fit an iPhone 14.

7. Louis Vuitton Pochette Accessoires

How did I get old enough to have lived through an entire fashion era which is now making a comeback? Well, from dungarees, to checkered blazers made popular by Cher Horowitz in 1995’s Clueless, y2k styles are in again.

One popular trend from this era was the shoulder bag, and The Louis Vuitton Pochette Accessoires is just that. First released in 1992, its resurgence in popularity is undoubtedly due to the re-emergence of y2k fashion trends, which might explain the sharp rise in price from around $500 in 2015 to around $1,290 today.

The Pochette Accessoires is a compact shoulder bag but don’t be fooled, it can easily fit your phone and essentials. The shoulder strap is detachable, so it can be used as a clutch or like a catch-all inside a larger bag. There is also the Multi Pochette Accessoires cross-body bag which combines two detachable pouches for versatility and added room.

8. Louis Vuitton Palm Springs Mini

It’s not hard to see why the Palm Springs Mini is one of the most popular Louis Vuitton bags. The backpack has been increasing in popularity for years because of its practicality, and the Palm Springs Mini gives a fresh edge to the style. It was originally released in 2016 and has grown in popularity since. The bag comes in different sizes, but the Mini has always been the most popular.

For pre-fall 2022, the Palm Springs Mini arrived in a sporty blue and white monogram print with gold finishing, inspired by the Grand Slam tennis tournaments. It is also available in more classic styles, with the popular Monogram canvas with gold-toned hardware and a soft leather trim, as well as adjustable shoulder straps for cross-body wear.

9. Louis Vuitton Capucines

The Louis Vuitton Capucines is a chic, elegant bag which screams luxury and will definitely get heads turning. The Capucines has the honor of being named after Rue des Capucines in Paris, where Louis Vuitton opened his first store way back in 1854.

Introduced in their 2013 fall/winter collection, this popular Louis Vuitton bag features a half cut-out LV logo at the top which can be hidden by the inner flap to show the monogram flower instead.

The Louis Vuitton Capucines comes in a range of sizes from the Capucines Mini Bag, to the slightly larger Capucines BB Bag and the largest Capucines MM Bag. Styles include the Capucines BB Bag in Taurillon leather with python skin handle, as well as the super stylish  and feminine Capucines Mini Bag in croc.

10. Louis Vuitton Petite Malle

The Petite Malle was launched in 2014 by Nicolas Ghesquière who was then new to his role as Creative Director of Louis Vuitton. Ghesquière wanted to make a mark with his first ever collection, so he went back to Louis Vuitton’s roots as a trunk maker and designed the Petite Malle, or ‘Little Trunk’.

This unique style embodies the early details of the brand in a contemporary remake. Featuring the iconic S-lock and polished metal fittings, it looks just like a little trunk, and even includes the sheepskin lining of the original trunks, as well as removable shoulder strap.

The bag also comes in other designs such as the Petite Malle Souple Bag (a softer version of the original), the Petite Malle East West Bag (slightly longer than the classic, the 200th anniversary addition) and the Petite Malle V bag (larger than the original).
