Luxury doesn’t come cheap and If there is anything I love more than luxury, it is discounts. With the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales being just around the corner, I thought this would be a good time to share with you my top tips on how to get discounts on luxury brands. Curious for ways to shop designer brands like Balmain, Dior, Manolo Blahnik, Valentino, Gucci, Saint Laurent for less? I have saved thousands of dollars by utilizing the tips below and so can you!

1. Sign up for newsletters

You’d be surprised to learn how much one could save by simply signing up to the online luxury retailer newsletters. Most online luxury retailers, in addition to seasonal sales, often do coupon code promotions. The easiest way to learn about these is by signing up for a newsletter. Just a little heads up: there are numerous sites out there that aggregate coupon codes. Don’t use them! How coupon code sites work, is that they make you press an affiliate link to view a code that usually expired. I’ve personally, never found a working coupon code through any of those sites and wouldn’t recommend using them. You should rather sign up for individual newsletters.

One of my favorite online luxury retailers doing coupon code promotions is LuisaViaRoma. At this point, I cannot remember the time that I bought anything there full-priced. LuisaViaRoma is one of those retailers that regularly send out incredible coupon codes that give you anywhere between 20 and 50 percent off brands incl. Balmain, Manolo Blahnik, Valentino and Saint Laurent. A Balmain blazer at a 40% off, or Manolo Blahnik Hangisi pumps at 30% off? Yes, please!

2. Utilize reward programs

Luisaviaroma rewards program, LVR Privilege

A lot of online luxury retailers have reward programs. How it works is that every time you buy something, you also earn reward points. The more you spend with the particular retailer, the more points you accumulate. Then, once you reach the certain amount of points, they can be redeemed in discount vouchers. The online luxury retailer with one of the most generous reward programs, in my opinion, is LuisaViaRoma. Their rewards program, LuisaViaRoma Privilege, has four levels. At all levels for every Euro spent you earn 1 LVR point. The points you earn can be exchanged for LVR credits of up to 300 Euro value. Furthermore, once you reach the fourth (Platinum) level, you can redeem your LVR points for Privilege Cards and enjoy up to 15 percent discount for 6 months on all your LuisaViaRoma purchases. How cool is that?

Another online luxury retailer with a good reward program is Moda Operandi. Every dollar spent at Moda Operandi will earn you 1 point. Every time you reach 1,000 points, a $20 Moda Reward is added to your account, that can be redeemed during checkout on any order.

3. Shop pre-loved

Did you know that buying pre-loved can sometimes bag you some amazing savings? Believe it or not, shopping pre-loved can save you as much as 90% off retail prices. When it comes to luxury, there are several brands out there that I stick to buying pre-loved. One of those brands is Dior. While I absolutely love the Lady Dior Bag, I would never buy it new from the boutique, for the reason that this bag does not retain its value that well. Currently, the Lady Dior Bag in the Medium size retails for $4,900 in boutiques. A hefty price tag, isn’t it? But what If I told you could get the same bag in an immaculate condition on the pre-loved market with at least 30% off its retail price? Just before I sat down to write this blog post, I’ve found multiple beautiful Lady Dior Bags for sale on Fashionphile and TheRealReal in a $1,900-3,500 price range. It’s crazy how much one could save by shopping pre-loved!

Besides bags, pre-loved websites are also a great destination for buying designers clothing for less. Designer ready-to-wear pieces don’t retain value that well either, so you are able to get some really cheap deals on designer clothes through pre-loved websites. However, make sure to only shop at trusted places, where you know you are getting an authentic item. My personal go-to destination for pre-loved designer clothes is TheRealReal. They have an amazing selection and guarantee 100% authenticity.
