Back in 2023, Alaïa broke the internet with their uber-trendy fishnet ballet flats. And in 2024 they did it again with the Le Teckel bag. Pieter Mulier’s masterpiece for Alaïa, the Alaïa Le Teckel is an elongated shoulder bag, arriving in a boxy, shrunken profile with extended shoulder straps for over-the-shoulder carry. High-impact, yet surprisingly practical, it has taken the fashion world by storm, while catapulting Alaïa to fame they’ve never seen before (according to Lyst, searches for the brand went up by 51% in Q3 of 2024).

4. Bottega Veneta

Anyone else concerned about the future of Bottega Veneta now that Matthieu Blazy is out? In case you haven’t heard, the designer is leaving the brand for Chanel. And while I am certainly excited about this move for him, I can’t help but wonder if that’s going to negatively impact Bottega Veneta, which has only grown in popularity in recent years. Not to even mention that quite a few icons were born under Matthieu Blazy’s tenure, including the popular Andiamo and Hop bags, which are currently bestsellers for the brand.

5. Loewe

2024 has also brought the whimsy bag charm back to the spotlight. And in many ways, that’s thanks to Loewe, which has released not one, not two, but dozens of cutesy designs, with a lot of them inspired by animals. Loewe, however, hasn’t stopped there. In fact, in 2024, they’ve released quite a few standout pieces, including the collaboration with Suna Fujita, a Kyoto-based ceramic studio renowned for their whimsical artworks inspired by childhood memories.

6. Saint Laurent

Saint Laurent’s 2024 collections focused on wearability. At the Spring/Summer 2024 runway show, which took place under the light of the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris, models were sporting modern interpretations of safari jackets and jumpsuits, while the brand’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection resurrected timeless staples like a sheer blouse and a pencil skirt.

And we could be more excited to see what the future holds for the brand in 2025.

Also on the list of the most popular luxury fashion brands in 2024 is Louis Vuitton. But is anyone really surprised? After all, 2024 has been a pretty successful year for the brand, with both new items and re-releases grabbing our attention. The House’s iconic Neverfull tote, for example, has been re-released in the new, reversible option. Louis Vuitton is also set to relaunch their collaboration with Takashi Murakami in early 2025, leaks of which have been all over the social media lately.

10. Coach

2024 has also been a fantastic year for Coach. First, their Brooklyn bag went viral both on TikTok and Instagram over the summer, then the brand’s Empire Carryall tote has overtaken our feeds closer to fall. Clearly, the brand’s creative director, Stuart Vevers, knows what he’s doing, putting a lot of the focus on the younger demographic, while still honoring the brand’s American heritage.
