Chanel Preppy Coco Bag: The Latest Chanel It-Bag?
Less than a year after the launch of the new 25 bag, Chanel is trending on social media again. And no, this isn’t because of the new options for the 25 bag, which are launching with the brand’s 26S collection. It’s also not for the crushed 2.55 bag which, unquestionably, stole the show during the brand’s SS26 show. So, what is it this time? Well, meet the latest must-have from Chanel — the Preppy Coco Bag!
Already spotted on multiple A-listers, including Dua Lipa and Jennie, the new Chanel it-bag arrives as part of Chanel’s 26P (Pre-spring 2026) collection and features a sleek, east-west silhouette with the iconic CC closure at the front and two elongated shoulder straps.
Its official name — the Chanel Small Flap Bag, though people online call it Preppy Coco and the Chanel 26. Btw, a lot of the brand’s longtime fans are going absolutely crazy for this bag, as, unlike other recent releases from Chanel, which were largely inspired by contemporary trends, this bag taps into the house’s enduring codes, or particularly, Chanel flap bags from the 1960s.
The new Chanel arm-candy also arrives in caviar leather (a fave among Chanel aficionados due to its sturdy nature), with a wide array of stunning, summery shades available, including pale green, yellow and navy. And its price: just $5,100, compared to the current retail price of $10,900 for the brand’s Small Classic Flap. Seems like a great deal, isn’t it? Which is also why I believe this handbag is getting so much attention right now. I mean, you are pretty much getting a classic Chanel, but without the price tag of the Classic Flap.
Though good luck with getting your hands on one of these bags, as due to high demand, the Preppy Coco Bag is really difficult to come by in boutiques. I, personally, didn’t get a chance to see it yet.
