Top 5 Designer Bags for Fall/Winter 2026

There are many ways to mark the arrival of a new season. For me, it’s usually a new handbag.

And while Fall/Winter 2026 collections have only just started to arrive in boutiques, I already have my eye on five bags that I think could become the season’s next It bags.

From Chanel’s latest take on the flap bag to the return of a Y2K favorite and a surprisingly buzzy Coach style, this season’s handbag lineup feels particularly interesting. There is a little less minimalism and a lot more personality — think slouchy shapes, nostalgic details, relaxed silhouettes, and bags that don’t look quite like everything else on the shelf.

So, if I had to bet on the five handbags we’ll be seeing everywhere this fall and winter, these are the ones I’d put my money on.

Chanel 26B Mini Flap Bag

Starting up with the bag that I think has the strongest chance of becoming the it-bag of this Fall/Winter season: the Chanel 26B Mini Flap Bag.

Following the incredible success of the oversized Soft Maxi Flap from the brand’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection, the 26B Mini brings the same relaxed take on the classic Chanel Flap, but in a much smaller, more everyday-friendly silhouette. And that’s exactly why I think it could be such a hit.

Chanel has no shortage of recognizable bags, but the 26B Mini Flap feels particularly well aligned with where handbags are heading right now: less rigid, less formal and much easier to wear with an everyday wardrobe.

Louis Vuitton Multipass

If you’ve read my Louis Vuitton Multipass guide, you already know I’m very bullish on this one.

The Multipass has all the ingredients of a potential new Louis Vuitton hit: a wearable silhouette, trendy vibe, multiple ways to wear it and, most importantly, enough personality to stand out in a sea of familiar logo bags.

And the amount of attention the bag is already getting — particularly the unboxing and styling videos appearing across social media — only makes me more convinced that the Multipass could be one of the big handbag stories of Fall/Winter 2026.

Loewe Amazona 180 Bag

When I first saw the Amazona 180 on Loewe’s Fall/Winter 2026 runway, my first thought was, How the heck is this supposed to work?

The intentionally open, undone construction isn’t exactly what you’d expect from a traditional top-handle bag. And yet, the more I see it, the more I understand what Loewe is doing.

The Amazona 180 perfectly captures one of the biggest handbag shifts for Fall/Winter 2026: bags are becoming more relaxed, more tactile, and frankly, a little less concerned with looking perfect. Vogue has also already singled out the Amazona 180 as one of the season’s standout top-handle bags, which makes me think this could be the fashion-insider pick of the five.

Saint Laurent Mombasa

Handbag revivals aren’t slowing down anytime soon. And the latest Y2K icon to make its way back onto our radar is the Saint Laurent Mombasa.

Originally introduced in 2002 during Tom Ford’s tenure at the house, the Mombasa has returned for 2026 with the same unmistakable crescent-shaped silhouette — only with a more modern interpretation of its signature handle.

And if you thought the Mombasa was simply a Spring/Summer comeback, think again. Saint Laurent is continuing to build on the style, which now comes in an array of materials, including leather, suede and pony hair (a version in alligator is coming too). Thus, the Mombasa is one of the archival handbags I would definitely keep an eye on for Fall/Winter 2026.

Coach Kisslock Frame Bag 30

Coach’s kisslock bags have been having a moment for several seasons now, but for Fall/Winter 2026, there’s a new version that has really caught my attention: the Kisslock Frame Bag 30.

First spotted on Coach’s Fall 2026 runway, the elongated, east-west silhouette feels like a natural evolution of the silhouette. Based on Bonnie Cashin’s archival 1969 Cashin Carry, the Frame Bag 30 combines a vintage-inspired frame closure with a long, slouchy shape that makes it surprisingly wearable and fit for the modern day.

And this is the version I’m seeing everywhere right now. If the current social media and street-style buzz is anything to go by, the Kisslock Frame Bag 30 could be Coach’s next big It bag — and possibly the sleeper hit of Fall/Winter 2026.
