Building on the success of the viral Maxi Flap Bag from the Spring 2026 collection and arriving with the brand’s lineup for Pre-Fall/Winter 2026 (26B), the new Chanel 26B Mini Flap Bag fully retains the pared-back aesthetic of its larger predecessor, featuring the same slouchy construction absent of the typical Chanel design codes, such as the signature diamond quilting and the interwoven chain. Basically, much like on its larger sister, the bag swaps those details for a minimalistic grained leather exterior with a slim, but adjustable leather shoulder strap.

Measuring 13 x 20 x 6cm, the design also comes complete with the iconic CC logo and is available in black, white, beige and light green, all arriving with gold- tone hardware.

And the price? $5,900, which is slightly more than the retail classic Rectangular Mini Flap ($5,600).

Which Bag Should You Get: the New 26B Mini or the Classic Rectangular Mini Flap?

Well, I don’t think this is a question of one being better than the other.

As a collector, I see them as representing two completely different chapters in Chanel’s history. The Classic Rectangular Mini Flap is unmistakably Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel—timeless, elegant, and built around the House’s most recognizable design codes. The new Mini Flap, on the other hand, feels like Matthieu Blazy’s vision: softer, more understated, and refreshingly modern without losing the essence of the brand.

With that being said, if you’re looking for a forever classic, the Rectangular Mini Flap remains hard to beat. But if you love owning pieces that mark a turning point in a fashion house’s history, the Chanel 26B Mini Flap could very well become one of the defining bags of the Blazy era.
