Top 5 Fashion Trends for Fall/Winter 2025
As much as I love summer—the linen dresses, the strappy sandals, the iced lattes that somehow count as meals—fall will always be my favorite season of all. Why? Because fall season is when the fashion girlies truly thrive. Layers, textures, drama… the works. And Fall/Winter 2025 fashion trends are serving looks with a capital “L.” From bold silhouettes to fabrics that scream luxury, this season is about stepping out and owning every room you walk into.
Does that mean that the quiet luxury era is over? Not quite. The minimalist girlies can still keep their tonal cashmere and stealth-wealth handbags. Though Fall/Winter 2025 definitely isn’t about whispering chic. See for yourself as you scroll through my personal edit of the top 5 fashion trends for Fall/Winter 2025.
1. Brown Is the New Black (Yes, Really!)

If you’ve spent your life avoiding brown because you thought it was “boring,” think again. For FW2025, brown is the color—rich chocolate, velvety espresso, even warm caramel. It’s giving cozy, it’s giving chic, it’s giving Saint Laurent goddess walking down the Paris runway in head-to-toe cocoa tones. Ralph Lauren and Hermès also co-signed the brown takeover, so expect to see it everywhere from knit dresses to leather boots. A lovely bonus? Brown pairs beautifully with just about everything, meaning that it’s one of the easiest trends to pull off this fall/winter season.

2. Faux Fur All The Way

This next trend on the list I am personally really excited about. I mean, if you’ve been following my blog for a while, you already know I am not a big fan of natural fur—it’s outdated, it’s cruel, and frankly, it’s unnecessary. But well, it seems like the fashion gods (or rather, the designers) finally heard my prayers because for Fall/Winter 2025, they went all in on faux fur. Coats, vests, scarves, handbags, you name it. FW2025 catwalks are filled with cruelty-free fashion. Not to even mention that faux fur is the easiest way to channel rich auntie energy without actually dropping a fortune.

3. Power Shoulders Are Back, Baby

If the 1980s taught us anything, it’s that bigger is better. And apparently, designers got the memo again. From Stella McCartney’s structured blazers to Gucci’s sharp-angled coats, power shoulders are back as one of the most dramatic trends of FW2025. The beauty of this trend? It instantly gives you posture. And an instant boost in confidence, too.

4. Black Lace: Goth but Make It Chic

Forget the heavy goth stereotype—this season’s black lace is pure sophistication. It’s sultry, it’s romantic, and it’s a little bit dark, in the best way possible. Picture delicate lace blouses paired with tailored trousers, or flowing lace gowns layered under structured coats. It’s giving Wednesday Addams after she studied abroad in Paris. A touch of gothic chic with just the right amount of softness makes this trend wearable whether you’re headed to a cocktail party or just want to add some drama to your brunch outfit.

5. Waist Belts: Back from the Goodwill Bin

The most unexpected trend of Fall/Winter 2025? Well, for me it’s definitely waist belts. I mean, didn’t we all collectively donate these to Goodwill back in 2014 and promised to never speak of them again? Yet here we are. On the bright side though, waist belts in 2025 look way better than they did in 2010. For Fall/Winter 2025 in particular, designers like Chloé and Balmain dusted off the 2010s waist belt and gave it a 2025-ready glow-up, cinching blazers, draped dresses, and structured coats with oversized leather straps and bold hardware (instead of the awkward elastic numbers). And not sure about you, but I kinda like it.
