Goyard, a French luxury trunk and leather goods brand, established in 1792, today is best known for its classic totes. Coveted among everyone from A-list celebrities to fashion magazine editors, these timeless bags are beloved for their easy design and practicality. However, they are not as easy to obtain.
The thing is that, throughout the decades, Goyard has earned itself a reputation for being one of the most secretive brands in the industry. They don’t engage in advertising. They aren’t active on socials. Not even to mention that they don’t sell anything online. Yes, as of recently, you can preview their product catalog on their site. But that’s about where it ends. Basically, to learn anything about their products, incl. the prices, you’d have to go to one of the brand’s physical retail locations. And just so you know: there are currently 35 retail locations around the world, out of which 7 physical Goyard boutiques are in Europe and 6 in the States. I mean, what if you simply can’t go? Well, if that’s the case, this price guide is for you.

Important Goyard Pricing Info 2024
The most significant change in Goyard’s pricing strategy as of 2024? Well, likely the fact that prices are now the same for both classic and special colors.
In case you didn’t know, Goyard used to classify their colors into two categories: “classic” and “special”. “Classic” color options included Black/Black and Black/Tan, whereas “special” colors included white, gray, light blue, navy, orange, red, yellow, green and burgundy.
Avid Goyard fans will remember that pieces in classic colors used to be priced a bit cheaper than those in special colors. However, that’s no longer the case. In August 2022, Goyard increased prices of their goods in classic colors to match the prices of the corresponding pieces in special colors. This was likely done to eliminate confusion with prices. Though we can only speculate.

The Saint Louis
Arguably the most popular of all Goyard totes is Saint Louis. Named after King Louis IX of France, the bag arrives in the brand’s classic Goyardine canvas with two leather top handles and a detachable interior pouch, which can also be used by itself, or in other handbags.
Originally designed as a beach bag, the Goyard Saint Louis Tote comes unlined and can be reversed to reveal the solid color linen and cotton mix. The bag is also available in an array of colors and comes in two sizes: PM and GM.

The Anjou
Known as the little brother of Saint Louis, the Goyard Anjou is a newer and improved version of the beloved tote. Fully reversible, the bag comes crafted in the brand’s classic Goyardine canvas, finished with Chevroches calfskin leather interior for added structure.
The Goyard Anjou Tote currently comes in three different sizes (mini, small and large), with mini as the most popular size of the three. Each size of the bag also comes complemented with a detachable interior pouch.

The Artois
And finally, the Artois. Often referred to as a more secure version of Goyard’s Saint Louis tote, the Artois arrives with a top zip closure and four leather corners that allow it to maintain its shape at all times (and even when the bag is empty).
The Goyard Artois Tote also has longer handles than the Saint Louis, ensuring a more comfortable carry when worn over the shoulder. Currently available in PM and MM sizes.

What is the best place to buy a Goyard tote in 2024?
As we’ve just learned, the Goyard Saint Louis Tote in the PM size currently boasts a EU price tag of €1,350. At the January 15th, 2024 exchange rate of €1=$1.10, that is equivalent to $1,479, which is $242 less than the current retail price tag of the bag in the States ($1,720).
The current euro price of the Goyard Mini Anjou (€1,950) at the €1=$1.10 exchange rate is equivalent to around $2,136, which is $454 less than the current retail price tag of the bag in the States ($2,590).
Similarly, the current euro price of the Goyard Artois MM tote (€2,200) converts to right around $2,410, which is $130 less than the current US price tag of the bag.
From the analysis above it stems that buying a Goyard tote in Europe is cheaper than in the United States. Furthermore, a foreign (non-EU) shopper in the EU in most cases is also eligible for a VAT refund, which, if approved, would bring in additional savings (VAT refund rate differs from country to country. In France, it’s currently 12 percent).
Can you buy a Goyard tote online?
As I’ve mentioned in the beginning of this blog post, sadly, Goyard doesn’t sell any of their products online. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t buy a Goyard tote online.
