As the crisp air and golden hues of autumn settle in, the transition from summer to fall calls for a wardrobe refresh. If you’re heading on a night out, style a black turtleneck jumper with a black mini skirt, leather-look blazer and a pair of knee-high boots. For days spent at your desk, pair your turtleneck with a denim maxi skirt and a cross-body bag.
4. Cashmere Cardigan
A French-girl must-have piece is a classic cashmere cardigan. No matter if you leave yours unbuttoned and slouchy or buttoned and preppy, their versatility makes them an essential with endless style. For days spent running errands, you can simply pair your cardigan with a tonal tank top and baggy denim. Or for something a little more sultry, strategically do up one or two buttons and leave a little skin on show.
5. Black Hoodie
Whether you’re kicking back on the weekends or running errands around town, a black hoodie will always be your best friend. If your agenda includes kicking back on the couch, make sure you have the uniform to match. I’m talking about pairing your black hoodie with a pair of matching joggers or cycling shorts for extreme comfort. Or if you’re looking for serious street style, go for a plain hoodie and trench coat combo – top it off with light-wash denim and a pair of sneakers.

As a universally adored outerwear piece, these coats are a dream to style and can be paired with basically anything. One of my favorite fits pairs a longline camel coat with cropped blue denim, a plain white long-sleeved tee and a pair of loafers.

Talking about loafers. Where footwear trends come and go, loafers forever remain in style. And it’s no wonder, as they’re comfy, chic and perfect to pair with anything from jeans to dresses. However, if you’re after something more elegant, go for the kitten heel. Kitten-heeled ankle booties will serve as a comfortable alternative to stiletto-heeled ankle boots as the sole balances out their height.

A good pair of white sneakers is essential for any season, not just fall. But I thought I’d still mention them here. That’s because they can be worn all year round and go well with just about anything. Jeans, dresses, coats – the list goes on.
