5 Pre-loved Bags Tempting Me Right Now

Over the past few months all I keep hearing is we are in a buyer’s market for pre-loved luxury. But what does this actually mean? Well, in short, as a result of an oversaturated pre-loved market (and more people selling than buying), pre-loved prices started going down. And I know what a lot you are going to say now: “Finally.” But for me personally, this only means more temptations. I mean, as a handbag lover, browsing pre-loved sites is one of my hobbies. And you know what I do when I see a bag that I wanted available in excellent condition and at a great price? Exactly, I add it to my cart. Ahead, the five pre-loved bags tempting me right now.

1. Celine Medium Classic Box Bag

The iconic Celine Classic Box Bag. You know I am still kinda sad that it has been discontinued. But on the other hand? The deals on used Celine Box Bags right now are simply so good! Currently tempting me, this Medium Box Bag in Amazone (a lovely dark green). Listed on Fashionphile in excellent condition, it comes at a sweet price of just $1,885, which is 57% off its estimated retail price of $4,400.

2. Bottega Veneta Mini Jodie

If, like me, you had a Bottega Veneta Mini Jodie on your wishlist a few seasons back, but didn’t want to spend $2,500, here are some good news: pre-loved prices for the bag are finally down. Quite frankly, a Mini Jodie right now can be yours for as little as $800, with bags in excellent condition going for around $1,000 second-hand, like this Mini Jodie in Bottega’s signature green, which is currently listed on Fashionphile for just $1,000.

3. Fendi First Small Bag

Atm, everyone seems to be obsessed with the Coach Kisslock bag. But is it just me, or the Fendi First seems like a better option for a bag of this style? Plus, due to Fendi discontinuing it (crazy, right – Fendi are discontinuing Fendi First just a few years after its launch which I discussed here), pre-loved prices are currently down significantly, with many options available near the $1,000 mark.

4. Chanel Gabrielle Small Hobo

Chanel’s Gabrielle bag has been discontinued for a good few years now. Plus, due to shoppers shifting to newer designs, like the Chanel 22 and 25 bags, prices for pre-loved Gabrielle’s have gone down, too. This Small Black Gabriele Hobo, for example, is currently listed for just $2,350 at Fashionphile, which for a Chanel Bag is quite a steal. I am really tempted.

5. Hermès Birkin 35

For several years now I’ve been thinking of adding a Birkin 35 to my collection, but hesitant to ask my SA. You know…I think I’d just rather use my pre-spend on a Birkin 25, or a Mini Kelly. And especially when considering that the premium for the Birkin 35 on the pre-loved market is nowhere as crazy as the premium for the Birkin 25. See, for example, this Black Birkin 35 reselling for $16,220 on Fashionphile. A Birkin 25 of similar specs and condition would cost at least $25,000!
