Hermès Birkin Price Guide 2024: US vs. EU
Are you planning to try your luck with buying a Birkin bag directly from Hermès? Well, if you are, chances are that you want to know how much the different versions of the bag currently cost.
The latest Hermès price increase took place in the beginning of January 2024, and as a result, prices for many popular H-bags (Birkins included) went up in the range between 3 and 8 percent. Sure, this isn’t as much as price increases at some other brands (I am looking at you, Chanel). Yet, it’s still quite substantial and that is also why it’s important to track the prices.
Hermès Birkin Prices 2024
So, how much does a Birkin bag cost in 2024? Well, in short, be ready to spend anywhere between $11,000 and $75,000! Why is there such a massive price range, you may ask? Well, it’s basically due to the different materials Hermès use to make their handbags. Basically, the rarer, or more exclusive the material, the more expensive the handbag!
The cheapest Hermès handbags usually come in leathers like Togo, Clemence and Epsom, whereas the most expensive ones are crafted from exotic skins, like Crocodile and Lizard. One of the most exclusive of all Birkin bags produced to date – the Himalaya Birkin, is crafted from Niloticus crocodile skin dyed in a white and grey gradient and currently retails between $55,000 and $75,000 (prices can vary by country). As of 2024, Togo leather remains the most popular material for the Birkin. But it’s really not surprising, as unlike some of the other Hermès leathers, Togo holds its shape incredibly well and is scratch-resistant, which is excellent for daily wear. Not even to mention that Birkin bags in Togo leather are the most affordable Birkins you can get, with the Birkin 25 in Togo currently going for $11,400 in the U.S. and €8,600 in Europe and the Togo Birkin 30 costing $12,500 or €9,400 respectively. And yes, in 2024, 25 is still the most popular size for the bag, closely followed by 30.
